Introducing Our New Lunch Entrees

When it comes to providing delicious and nutritious meals for students, CKC Good Food has always been at the forefront. This season, we're thrilled to unveil a range of new on-trend entrees that will tantalize taste buds and offer a diverse culinary exploration. We realize the importance of updating our menus regularly to ensure happy eaters year after year and to tap into the latest flavors and dishes. Once again this year, Asian and Indian-inspired entrees were well received in our spring taste tests and brought forth for our fall menus. Our commitment to quality and flavor comes through in these delightful new meals, which conform to USDA guidelines for the National School Lunch Program and the Child and Adult Care Food Program.

Kudos to Recipe Development & Menu Coordinator Brandon Porter for bringing these new entrees to fruition!

Watch for these new menu items on your rotations:

  1. Butter Chicken: Boasting the rich flavors of India, our creamy Butter Chicken is made with tender chicken pieces cooked in a luscious tomato and butter sauce. It's savory and mildly spiced goodness! Served with fragrant Jeera rice, it's a surefire way to introduce global flavors to young eaters.
  2. Korean BBQ Meatballs: Savory meets sweet with our Korean BBQ Meatballs. These succulent meatballs are glazed in a delectable blend of soy, garlic and ginger, creating a harmonious fusion of flavors that's both familiar and excitingly new.
  3. Bengali Chicken & Potato Kathi Roll: Tender chicken and spiced potatoes are wrapped in a soft flatbread, making it a convenient and delightful option for students.
  4. Chicken Tikka Strips: These chicken strips are bold and tangy, offering a hint of smokiness and a burst of Indian-inspired spices in every bite.
  5. Chicken Gyro: Slices of seasoned chicken are nestled in warm pita bread and topped with fresh vegetables and tangy yogurt sauce, providing a wholesome and flavorful meal.
  6. Asian Chicken Dumplings: Filled with a savory chicken mixture, our Asian Chicken Dumplings are steamed to perfection, offering a taste of comfort and Asian tradition in each dumpling.
  7. Buffalo Chicken Calzone: A crispy pastry exterior gives way to a zesty buffalo chicken filling, providing a satisfying kick that's sure to be a hit.
  8. Tikka Drumstick with Jeera Rice: This marinated chicken drumstick is infused with flavor, cooked to perfection and served alongside fragrant cumin-infused rice.

Our new entrees are thoughtfully crafted to ensure students continue participating in school meals and have the opportunity to expand their culinary horizons. With these additions to school lunch menus, we aim to make lunchtime an eagerly anticipated part of the day, fostering a love for good food and diverse flavors among students.
