During National School Breakfast Week (NSBW), taking place from March 2-6, CKC Good Food joins you in celebrating that work. In the “Quest for School Breakfast” – this year’s theme – we recognize food service professionals as the true heroes and the vital role you play in ensuring students start each day ready to learn, grow and tackle what’s ahead.
From planning menus all the way to welcoming students with a nourishing meal, we’re honored to support you on this quest, helping make school breakfast nutritious, accessible and something students want to come back for day after day.
Celebrating You for NSBW
National School Breakfast Week isn’t just about a meal – it’s about the people behind it. You’re navigating early mornings, busy kitchens and feeding bellies. It takes a coordinated effort to offer a breakfast that’s warm, welcoming and ready every day.
And the work goes beyond the morning. Whether you’re encouraging participation, planning special menu days, or trying new service models, your work helps make breakfast more accessible and sets students up for success.
Why the Quest Matters
It’s simple. Research continues to reinforce what you see firsthand every day: breakfast matters. Students who eat breakfast are more likely to:
- Reach higher levels of achievement in reading and math
- Score higher on standardized tests
- Have better concentration and memory
- Be more alert and maintain a healthy weight
Yet for many families, mornings can be rushed, making it hard for students to eat a nourishing meal before heading to school. The School Breakfast Program ensures that no matter the morning, students have access to the foods that will help give them the support they need to start their daily quest.
It’s not rocket science – breakfast sets the tone for the entire school day.
In fact, students who participate in school breakfast often experience better attendance and fewer behavioral challenges, reinforcing the connection between nourishment and better outcomes in school.
Featured Breakfast Foods
Every quest needs the right fuel, and during the 2026 National School Breakfast Week, we’re spotlighting some of the breakfast items that will be helping power students this week.
- Sliced bagel with strawberry cream cheese – great for its low sugar content
- Egg & cheese croissant – warm and filling in the morning
- Pumpkin bread slice – a treat kids enjoy
From all of us at CKC Good Food, thank you for your dedication. We’re proud to be your partner on this quest. Here’s to fueling students, one breakfast at a time!
